Yoga, Meditation and Stress Management I

Task: Design a one-hour yoga and meditation class for a special population.

Part One:  Choose a special population to work with.  For example:

  • Children
    • Elderly
    • Athletes
    • Veterans
    • Pregnant women
    • Etc.

Part Two:  Identify a mantra or concept that fits well with your chosen population.  Write a short introduction describing the mantra or concept and why you chose it for your class.

Part Three:  Design an asana sequence (5-10 poses, including savasana as the final pose) for your class, keeping in mind any special modifications you might need to offer.

Part Four: Write a short (3-5 minutes) meditation, connecting your meditation to the mantra or concept you have chosen for the theme of the class.
