ROUNDABOUTS

A roundabout is a one-way, circular intersection without traffic signal equipment in which traffic flows around a center island. Its main function is to reduce conflict points between vehicles, and also change the way vehicles might collide from; T-bone to sideswipe, thus reducing the chance of personal injuries.

  1. Cover page (1 page)
  2. Introduction (3/4 page): explain briefly the topic chosen and the reason it is used.
  3. Discussion (5 pages): explain about the topic chosen, how it works, its different types, factors affecting its selection, and an example in a state, where the state’s name starts with your last name initial. 

In the Discussion, include (5) pictures with captions and references or the links where you got them from, including (4) pictures about different types and (1) picture taken from above (plan view) of the example you have chosen. The pictures should not be larger than 2.5”(W)x4”(H).

  • Conclusions (1 page): make a suggestion as to where else in another American city the topic chosen can be used and how and include the schematics, drawn on a screenshot of a Google map. Also: 
  • For roundabout: talk about the way pedestrian crossings will be chosen and discuss it from pedestrian safety perspective.
