Qualitative Data
3. Qualitative Data – 10 pts
We are interested in creating our own cereal brand. For our market research, we are interested in finding out the distribution of manufacturers of our competition. Using the “Manufacturers” column in your data set, complete the following. Remember that the pivot table feature has a “location” option, so when you select the data from the data sets page, choose “Existing workbook” and then navigate to cell A1 on this page.
Instructions:
Part A – 5 pts
Beginning in cell A1, create a frequency distribution for the qualitative “Manufacturers” column from your Data Set using the “Pivot Table” feature. If you get a (blank) row, be sure to remove it. You should have the abbreviated manufacturer (indicated by a letter only) in column A and the count for each manufacturer displayed as a percent of the grand total in column B.
Part B – 5 pts
Using the pivot table from Part A, create a pie chart that graphically displays your data. Give it a title of “Cereal Manufacturers” and a legend. Have the percentage for each manufacturer displayed on your pie chart. Position the pie chart beneath your pivot table.
