“The Hidden Fury: New Madrid Seismic Zone”

Click on the following video link.  Read through the video transacipt and prepare a short summary of the video including the following.  Be sure your summary is in paragraph form and includes a minimum of five sentences.  The five sentences should cover your take on the white spots visible in some fields today in southeast Missouri.  These white spots are evidence of the earthquakes of 1811-1812.  These were highlighted in the transacipt.  In your summary include the focal depth of most earthquakes that occur along the NMSZ.  Explain why Memphis and blues music was a focus of this video on the NMSZ.   

Questions over the New Madrid Seismic Zone will be on the next earthquake exam.  I will provide a review PowerPoint over earthquakes in Missouri with additional information from this video that you will be responsible for.  For now, watch the video and prepare your short summary.
